Industrial Biotechnology Skills Conference and Workshop, 18-19 May 2016, Manchester

This two-day BBSRC event, developed in conjunction Cogent Skills and the Industrial Biotechnology Leadership Forum, is an opportunity for early career researchers to discover more about possible career paths in Industrial Technology, including those outside the laboratory. This event will feature career development workshops and activities, as well as sessions from individuals in academia & industry highlighting various career paths and opportunities.

This event will bring together a mix of early career researchers from 8 BBSRC NIBB. BIOCATNET will sponsor up to 12 people to attend this event free of charge, these places are available to PhD students, Post-docs, and early career industry researchers. Click here to download the the event flyer.

Industrial Biotechnology Course: Biocatalysis through to Synthetic Biology

When: 18-20 April 2016

Where: Biochemical Engineering, University College London

This unique module designed in collaboration with the Centre of Process Innovation (CPI) will introduce options for integrating biocatalysis into chemical manufacturing processes, and also explore successful examples of biocatalyst design, process operation and biorefining for sustainable manufacturing. In this module a series of lectures, problem solving case studies, and a practical workshop will provide close interaction with key academic and industrial speakers

3rd Round of the Industrial Biotechnology Catalyst

BIOCATNET led applications to the previous two rounds of the Industrial Biotechnology Catalyst for Early-stage Translation projects. Developing high-quality funding proposals to the IB Catalyst is a major aim of BIOCATNET, and is likely to be a key target for follow-on funding for those seeking proof-of-concept support from the Network. The IB Catalyst will accelerate commercialisation of technologies developed by the excellent research expertise brought together by the Network.
